Joshua Burwell has owned and operated Joshuatree Landscapes since 2000, however, his career began long before that. He is a descendent of plantsmen dating back 125 years to the Czech Republic. It was there that his great grandfather operated a nursery which still exists today.

In the 1960's, Joshua's uncle, Kurt Bluemel immigrated to the US — Joshua's mother, Monika Burwell, soon followed. They both operate thier own separate nursery and landscape businesses in the Baltimore area. Before forming his own company, Joshua has worked for both his uncle and his mother, and spent one year working in Germany, amassing over ten years of experience in the industry.
